Review on Hawk Performance HP Plus Brake Pad HB145N.570 by Bill Sorenson

Good HPDE pads; not good for the road

Bought these pads for my S2000 for the HPDE season this year. That's what I think. Pros: Great stopping power, great pedal feel, good heat resistance (more than enough for HPDE 1). Cons: Dust, noise at street speeds/pedals. For my current needs, the HP+ is perfect. On my final day of track they didn't go away, stopping lap after lap with confidence. Take it for granted that I'm in HPDE 1, I wasn't driving that fast. However, the HPS I used last year started to fade after only three laps at the same track. Pedal feel is firm and easy to modulate. Braking performance is much better than stock pads (same tires). I didn't notice a single failure of the HP+ pads on the track. Now on the road. They squeak a lot, especially when you lightly press the brake pedal. And dust. My front wheels turned black after 1.5 months of riding, with a few track days in between. I'm ready to deal with those who work on the track. If you only use this pad for road riding, the HPS is your best choice. Track, HP+ all the way.
