It's WIDE and family food grade. The stainless steel is good and the toaster is quite heavy. We can say that this is pretty decent quality. Nicely packaged and shipped on time. He served me for a few months. We use it for bagels, Danish dishes, toast, etc. The spaces are wide and can accommodate Texas-sized toast while still leaving a bit of wiggle room. There was a chemical smell after first use, so I suggest opening the windows and running it a few times before using it for cooking. This chemical smell comes from most of these products. I've been using this ever since and this toaster is really great. I like that you can control 2 sides at the same time.
