I bought this primarily as extra air storage for my 25 gallon compressor. So I look at the tank itself first, which is pretty good. The manifold, hose and air cartridge included in the kit are not suitable as they restrict flow. By adding a tee in place of the manifold, you can fit a pressure gauge on one end and a quick-release chuck on the other. This allows you to fill the tank in 12 seconds instead of 2-3 minutes with a tire valve on the manifold. It can be safely inflated to a pressure of 150psi (150psi is within the safety parameters for this 125psi pressure rated vessel) and the stem will hold pressure for weeks while losing less than 10psi inches. Too bad they don't come from the factory that way. It's a little harder than I thought it would be, but I doubt anyone would do these hikes. You're much better off with a large capacity that you can use but the added weight than a lightweight unit that doesn't hold enough air. Of course you could use an aluminum tank, but it costs three times as much.
