In general, for your money, a normal thing. If you need a gigabit channel - then this model is not suitable. It would also be great if the adapter could switch to power saving mode depending on traffic behavior, and not on the presence of a signal on the wire. Has some pros - Easy to set up - Price - Works without problems through an extension socket - There is a power saving mode, during which there is practically no consumption and the adapter does not heat up at all Has cons: - The speed is not more than 100 Mbit / Sec - it is written that up to 600 within the LAN, apparently this implies max. speed over the internal network, but de facto limited to 100 megabits. Generally not critical. - They heat up during operation and when not in use (if the power saving mode is not enabled) - The power saving mode is activated only after 5 minutes of inactivity of the network cable. If inserted into a computer that has Wake On Lan enabled in the BIOS, it will never switch, because even after turning off the PC, the signal comes in and the adapter thinks that it is in use. It is warm (but not hot). Similarly with a router - if another one is inserted into the router, then either cut off power to the port connected to the adapter through the router settings, or put up with the fact that it will always work and get warm. How it will affect energy consumption is still difficult to say
