I'll start with a huge minus, because of which I rated this adapter so poorly: I have 3 laptops at home (1 gaming and 2 cheap ones for work) and a graphics station for which I actually bought an adapter. The router is located in the kitchen, about 10 meters to the computer and 2 concrete walls. So this TP-LINK doesn't even see it! And all 3 laptops connect without problems to the kitchen router with a stable connection (signal level is about 70-80%) without losing the speed declared by the provider, from the same place where the system unit is. There are pluses too: Approximately 2 minutes have passed since the opening of the package and the start of work. On Windows7 x64, the drivers and utility get up very quickly and without any problems. And although the utility itself is not available in 2022 even on the official website, even a 5-year-old child can deal with it, everything is intuitive. In the room where the system unit itself stands, I have a backup Internet, which has been continuously broadcasting through a wonderful netgir router for more than 2 years now. The system unit is located half a meter from it, which allows TP-LINK to cling to at least this network. I loaded the torrents to the maximum, did not overheat much and did not observe any breaks. TOTAL: - if someone wants to buy this whistle instead of the built-in one in a laptop - DEFINITELY NO! Built-in work much better (tested on cheap Dell, Asus and expensive HP). - if someone wants to use this adapter in a desktop computer, and the access point is far away, especially through 1-2 walls - DEFINITELY DO NOT BUY! It won’t catch the signal at all, and even opening the shell of the adapter itself won’t help much, unless you just solder a couple more antennas at least 5 dBi - if someone wants to use this adapter in a desktop computer and he does not want normal, but bulky adapters, the router is half a meter (maximum one meter) from the computer and there are no concrete walls between them - YOU CAN PURCHASE. Among whistles (flash drive adapters), TP-LINK is not bad enough.
