The bristles are sucked into the vacuum cleaner and form a filter, which does not work even with a small shop vacuum cleaner.
Used this little hard vacuum for home storage with bag. The bristles of the brush are bent towards the suction hole and when you turn on the vacuum cleaner they block the hole and the bristles become a filter that catches any debris in the bristles. Useless, need stiffer bristles, wider bristles or vent to reduce suction.
