Review on Alpine Electronics HCE TCAM1 WRA 2007 Up Wrangler by Troy Larson

I have found this to be the best overall solution for adding a backup camera to my 2015 Rubicon. The quality is good and the installation was quite easy. However, the direction for the wiring was a bit lacking. To connect this unit to a factory head unit, you must purchase an adapter cable from Alpine. What was confusing was the instructions that came with the camera, which is said to connect to a black and white wire in the passenger console to control the brakes. However, the extra wire should be connected to the white/brown wire. After some internet searching I found out that it is the WHITE/BLACK wire for the brake control. Otherwise I am very satisfied with the camera. The third brake light looks nice and goes well with my LED taillights. I would have liked the device to be completely black, but it still looks good.
