A number of reviews complain that they don't fit in the empty base and prevent the lid from closing. That is not completely right. I took a chance and faced the same problem, so I compared this bag to the original bag and found that the size and shape are the same, the thickness of the plastic was the difference. The brand name is thinner so they fit easily. A very light push on one side of the plastic element helped it overcome anything it was stuck to and the bag snapped fully and correctly into place. I've since turned the vacuum on and it has emptied properly without spilling anything in the compartment.
