I usually make and sell 150-200 greeting cards a year and I like to emboss the background and then paint it so the raised pattern stands out. I tried all sorts of ink pads until I finally found this Jim Holtz distress ink pad. It's advertised as giving an "aged look on paper, fiber, photos and more" which wasn't exactly what I was looking for. But it also works very well for coloring in raised drawing after I've run my cardboard through my cuttlebug with an embossing folder. Please see the customer image for a greeting card that I embossed with a graduation binder and then inked with a torn pink distress ink pad (background for the main image). Tattered Rose is more beige than pink, but I love this color. The only downside to using this distress ink pad is that it takes a few minutes to dry.
