Love it! for stamps and ink pads

So cool! Just what I needed to give my junk magazine a vintage look. I played with it as soon as I got it. I folded the ad and applied the ink after burning an edge. I took a sponge and lightly added ink to the photo. I squirted some water on it with a brush. I placed the advert on the ink pad itself and used a sponge to smudge the ink. Then I put some water on it with my finger. I liked the result of all three experiments. My only concern is that the ink pad will feel a bit dry. I hope itโ€ฆ

Use this to create portrait cases!

I used this to create portrait cases for a celebrity gift. I'm so happy with it! It stayed wet long enough to apply the embossing powder and didn't smear. It would be nice if it was a *small* sticker. Sometimes I noticed some not very sticky spots where the powder didn't stick after shaking off the excess. One thing I noticed is that the lid doesn't hold very tight so I'm wondering if it dries out sooner? I'll keep an eye on it and will definitely update if it happens!

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • I'll add it later

Fun and works well

I think I found this product in a guide. I decided to give it a try. It took a bit of practice, but now it seems like not a day goes by that I don't find a new use for it. I offer special brushes for application. Also start with a light touch as this is a very dark ink. It's also water soluble so you can dampen the paper before and/or after and do all sorts of cool stuff. You can use stamps. Cover the entire surface with a typical stamp or parts of it to give it an aged look. I've been usingโ€ฆ

Broken Rose is more beige than pink

I usually make and sell 150-200 greeting cards a year and I like to emboss the background and then paint it so the raised pattern stands out. I tried all sorts of ink pads until I finally found this Jim Holtz distress ink pad. It's advertised as giving an "aged look on paper, fiber, photos and more" which wasn't exactly what I was looking for. But it also works very well for coloring in raised drawing after I've run my cardboard through my cuttlebug with an embossing folder. Please see theโ€ฆ
