I bought these specifically for use with the new 5 cast iron cookware set I bought here from Revain and used them for the first time with this set today and they have not disappointed. Cookware Set I cooked two full packs of bacon in four pans each, which was no small feat. To do this, I had to get the pans really hot. I had to use gloves to move the pans, set them at the sink, pour out the fat while holding the hot pan, put it back on the stove, etc. It was quite a bit of work. The gloves got quite greasy and the great thing is that I was able to just wipe the sponge off with soap and water. I was also really pleased with how well the mittens protected my hands from the heat. Each of the cast iron skillets sat on the stove for about 45 minutes and was HOT. Very hot. Even holding heavy pans with two hands for 2-3 minutes, pouring out grease and moving pans back and forth to try to brush the remaining grease to the sides, I never felt an uncomfortable amount of heat coming through the gloves flowed. The silicone has not been affected by heat and although I've been using them for cooking for a few weeks now they still feel like new. LOVE these mittens and recommend them to everyone!
