This keychain alarm is marketed for women, but certainly anyone can use it. The sleek design that resembles more of a USB flash drive is easily concealed when carrying by hand, or it can be attached to a purse perhaps which may be a problem if the purse is the desired object for a thief.But let’s assume you as a victim can disarm attackers or summon help by pulling apart the top which will activate the loud siren and flashing strobe light. Will it really scare away the bad guys? Maybe. Most importantly, will you have time to activate it? I’m not so sure. When I tried it, the top was very hard to dislodge and after activation, even harder to put back in its casing. When ambushed, you don’t really have time to stumble around and pull apart a device that may not be accessible or easy to operate when needed the most.Instead of pulling apart the top, perhaps another design the manufacturers should consider is to activate the alarm with a button instead that would be quicker and easier to use in an alarming situation.
