These mugs are great except for one crucial flaw; Over time they become sticky! I bought this for my grandma because regular mugs are too big for her to cope with her arthritis. This cup changed the rules of the game. But like many others, I noticed after several washes that a sticky coating had formed on the outside of the mug. Nobody seems to know why this is happening. As it is otherwise a perfect mug, I really didn't want to send it back. Solution: Rub a few tablespoons of vegetable oil on the outside of the cup. Then gently rub the outside with the rough part of the sponge for a few minutes. Wash in cold water with detergent and towel dry. The stickiness should go away.
