I bought this for my '58 Ford with a basic charging system that has been completely redesigned to factory specs. I have worked with cars for over 40 years and can read electrical schematics. I explained to Speedway Motors that the alternator was not producing the advertised power. I wrote to them that the no-load output voltage was between 12.0 and 12.03 volts maximum. They replied that it must be connected incorrectly. How wrong is it when 1 wire goes to ground and the other wire goes to battery + starter relay output. Ultra light connection. They also explained everything to me, the car is new. The old generator was replaced and it worked like new again. I just wanted more power to add mods like radio, clock and air conditioning, now I'm sitting on a useless generator that can't even charge a laptop. LEARN MORE ABOUT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
