Good choice to simplify an old car and great quality

I like it. Easy. a wire. Eliminates external voltage regulator. I cleaned the wiring, the quality is excellent. Driven the 53 year old truck almost 1500 miles and never had a problem with the charging system. I'm starting a new project and a 130 amp generator is in the future. I can't say enough good things about Tuff Stuff products. I had a wiring issue and their technician was fantastic and knowledgeable. I didn't get chrome but I have no doubt it will bring me home

Tuff stuff is quality material!

Replaced the alternator on my 62 Falcon Inline 6 with this quality Ford style alternator from Tuff Stuff. Ideal for original alternator brackets from later Ford 200/6 cyl. Consistently stable performance from idle to maximum RPM. While the body is Ford-style, the internals and wiring are GM 10Si for easy wiring. I prefer to use the factory "idiot light" and this alternator has a bracket for it (clip 1 under the black rubber plug). I would recommend this alternator to anyone looking to upgrade…

After a closer inspection, checking the alignment, everything was fine so I started the car again and this time it was making noise and vibrating before I could stop the engine, the alternator bearing seized and the belt snapped. I ordered a replacement because most of the reviews were positive, I'll check it out carefully, it's not…

Don't buy if you're trying to restore a classic car.

I bought this for my '58 Ford with a basic charging system that has been completely redesigned to factory specs. I have worked with cars for over 40 years and can read electrical schematics. I explained to Speedway Motors that the alternator was not producing the advertised power. I wrote to them that the no-load output voltage was between 12.0 and 12.03 volts maximum. They replied that it must be connected incorrectly. How wrong is it when 1 wire goes to ground and the other wire goes to…
