Review on LG 38GL950G B Ultragear Monitor: 3840X1600P, 144Hz 🖥️ Refresh Rate, Height Adjustment, Wall Mountable, Anti-Glare Coating, IPS by Chuck Wiley

The device has two fans. After 1.5 years, one of the fans in my unit is now producing enough when the constant high frequency ticking/clicking causes exhaustion. The warranty is only 1 year, which is a shame given the expensive device but cheap parts. contacted support and offered a $400 repair which, considering I put the unit up for sale, is 1/3 the price of the unit - an absurd price compared to the cost of the parts involved - and the labor , which they have to swallow considering they saved on cheap parts. There are a dozen fans in my room that are approaching a decade and they haven't failed that way. They were unable to provide me with repair manuals. I've ordered the parts (both fan packs totaling $130, $100 one and $25 the other) and am going on an adventure to find out where the various pressure grommets are and so on. If I do this myself it will probably cost me more, but at least I can apply some mitigation on new equipment as it gets installed. If you want a quiet monitor that will last a while, look elsewhere. Otherwise the device is very functional, decent display and gsync works as advertised. The color calibration seems pretty terrible (compared to other LG monitors I have side by side) and can't really be fixed via the OSD. If you need accurate colors, you need to calibrate the display with an external calibration device. Two stars because for this price I don't have to repair or obsolete equipment myself in less than two years. The cost of this repair to me, given my time and investment, is absurd and unaffordable for most buyers. Failing to fix something causes me fatigue that actively damages my being, so it really isn't enough. Due to these issues, the product does not deserve high marks. Update: It's been over a month and none of the parts I ordered have shipped.
