When I mentioned it it was as if she wanted to deflect my question

This product should not be sold as it contains lead. And given the manufacturer's response (or lack thereof) to my query, I wonder why BDK Auto is even allowed to sell products on Revain. It's on my steering wheel... until I saw the following clue. "Warning: This product contains chemicals, including lead, which are known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash your hands after contact. "A leaded steering wheel cover? Do you wash your hands after handling? Who in their right mind would make such a product? The warning does not state that it MAY contain lead. It is said to contain lead. I called Revain to see if I could get more specific information as to why a mandatory CA notice was applied to this product. Revain had no information but gave me the phone number for the manufacturer, BDK Auto. I called BDK to speak to someone who could answer some specific questions about this product. I was put through to a gentleman who listened to my question, paused, told me he needed to study the matter for a minute and then hung up. I let him assume the hung up was accidental and called back. This time no one answered the phone at all. I waited a few minutes and tried again. On the third call the woman who answered said I had no one to talk to. When I pressed my request to speak to someone, she asked if my question was related to the CA alert (leading me to believe I wasn't the only person who had been called about the alert). The conversation that followed was tense because she didn't want to pass me on to anyone. Eventually she explained that she normally doesn't answer the phone and that she shouldn't take my call at all. Another very defensive answer told me that BDK was just selling the product and I would have to call China. Despite this, she continued to claim I had no one to talk to (even though I was transferred on my first call). I should have given up at that moment, but I insisted. She eventually offered to give me the email address of someone who she said could answer my questions, but kept stating that there was no one to speak to and that there was no other number I could call. When I mentioned that it seemed like she was trying to decline my question, she explained that I declined the service she provided me (email address). leaded rim coating? How could Motor Trend license its name for such a product? How could Revain sell such a leaded product? How could Revain allow a company like BDK to sell products on Revain? Based on my experience, Revain graciously refunded the purchase price and I will NOT use this coating. Purchase at your own risk.
