Read many reviews about how bad the chuck mechanism is. When I received this I spent a few minutes developing the two button approach to setting the bit. I actually found it pretty basic and assumed DeWalt had improved it over previous reviews. I started using the tool and a few minutes into work the drill stopped and I noticed that the black outer plastic ring holding the second locking knob was off center and not aligned with the collet holding the drill. Now the entire cartridge is jammed and refuses to lock or unlock, rendering the device unusable. I threw it away in disgust and bought a Rotozip which was great for cutting speaker holes in my fiberglass boat. I will also say that even if the chuck would work, I believe this tool is only good for lightweight materials like drywall. It's not speed adjustable and the fixed speed it runs at will burn out a bit on anything harder than drywall. The all-purpose bit I used was visibly tarnished and burned into the fiberglass after just five minutes.
