I got it today and am posting first impressions. The quality is better than I expected, solid construction, smooth pan and tilt movements. The only exception is that the screw on the QR plate looks a bit flimsy and might even be plastic, but I'm not sure about that yet. It's heavier than I'd like given it's DSLR shooting in remote wilderness areas where every gram counts. A lighter alloy like magnesium would justify the higher price. As it is, the price is great for what it is. I would also like a better way to control friction on the pivot axis. The screw only provides smooth panning when fully loosened. The QR base holds a standard Arca-Swiss compatible plate if required.
