Lube leak or assembly and quick release are stuck

Quality not where it should be even at the low price. Neewer has a smiley head with more customization options and better quality for $2 more. Grease or liquid spilled out on arrival and the quick release is stuck. I gave it an extra star because the customer support seems to be good. They responded in time to solve the problem which was helpful.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Good but not great

Nice ball head, a bit too big for my needs

I bought this ball head to put on my monopod so I can tilt the camera/zoom lens up and keep the monopod on the ground. I like the quick reset feature. In my opinion, the ball head was too big and too heavy for a monopod. On a tripod it will probably work. I didn't like the dueling grips. Just one would be enough. The price was right. It works great. I just wish it was smaller and lighter for my use.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Disappear

GOOD quality, love it

GOOD quality, love it! ---But. I REALLY miss my tripod and the SLIK U-212 Deluxe head that allowed me to instantly swap cameras on the tripod without removing the bottom camera mount plate (which most tripod heads now have). The Slik's small and inexpensive round-bottom grip could be left on multiple cameras and quickly removed and turned on, switching to a different camera and lens combo almost instantly. The availability of multiple camera/lens combo units with grips has greatly reduced the…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Functionality

I needed a 300mm f4 telephoto lens, very heavy and 14 inches long. This is probably the best amount of money spent on my needs. It's pretty well done! It's also good if you loosen the latch a few turns so it doesn't touch the base at all. The tilt works great, but I wish the handle was a few inches longer. I am a very happy customer and my camera and lens are more secure than ever on this head.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Quick start guide

I got it today and am posting first impressions. The quality is better than I expected, solid construction, smooth pan and tilt movements. The only exception is that the screw on the QR plate looks a bit flimsy and might even be plastic, but I'm not sure about that yet. It's heavier than I'd like given it's DSLR shooting in remote wilderness areas where every gram counts. A lighter alloy like magnesium would justify the higher price. As it is, the price is great for what it is. I would also…

Great value for money

I'm giving it five stars not because it's the best pick but because it's the best pick in this style I've found for the price can. it works damn well. My ratings are based on VALUE. This head meets my needs and works quite well. I'm sure if you're a professional photographer who uses your gear every day and downplays this thing, you won't appreciate it as much as I do. I'm an amateur, I think an advanced level. Sometimes I need a head like that, but not enough to spend five or ten times as…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Good, compact tripod head, with one shortcoming.

I bought this head to use with a travel tripod instead of the ball head that came with it when I want to shoot video. It's compact enough for me and feels solid.* Slim. I like that all three movements are smooth and the adjustment screws have flat knobs instead of round ones, making them easy to turn even with gloves on.* Fast. I also like that it uses a Swiss Arca style quick release plate. A 6.5cm screw is included. The camera mounting screw on the quick release plate can be tightened with…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires power outlet
