Review on πŸ”¬ KUNHEWUHUA 15-2000000 Digital Viscosity Viscometer by Andrew Gomez

The right instrument at an affordable price

I bought this rotational viscometer to characterize some non-newtonian liquid mixtures at work. I decided to give it a try because it's about 1/4 the price of equivalent industry standard viscometers. For this price I found the device to be excellent for my application. I was concerned about what material was used to make the spindles. I contacted the seller and received the information within a day (it's 304 stainless steel if you're interested). I was satisfied with their quick response. After doing an on-board gauge R&R study on a number of my samples, I found that the claimed accuracy of +/- 5% was accurate. This level of repeatability/reproducibility met my needs and gave me enough determination to better control my processes. I did not attempt to evaluate the accuracy of the measurement against any known standard as I was only interested in the consistency of the measurement. You may need to do your own experiment or calibration if you are concerned about the absolute viscosity of the liquid. If you need something more specific (+/- 1%) you can look at some of the Brookfield units. Be prepared to shell out a few grand. Overall I am very happy with this device so far. It was very easy to set up and use, although the user manual is written in broken English, a few paragraphs are missing, and there are a typo or two. I'm rating it 5 stars based on the perceived value and the customer support I've received. I will update this review if I run into any durability issues in the future.
