I don't usually spend time reviewing things unless they're awful or amazing. This is obviously an amazing device. In short, we bought a new house and moved to Fios. In my old house I had my "office" (adult playroom) in the basement and had ethernet. Now I'm on the top floor and the wireless router is in the basement, in the utility room. I needed to buy a wireless card for my main PC so I chose it because it sounded pretty good. Installed and after 20 minutes I ordered my son. I had no idea wifi was that fast. I had plans to buy extenders or repeaters and such due to the distance and weak signal, but the antennas do a good job for you to set them up (I believe the Windows Store has a strength meter) so I saved myself the hassle . and the cost of it. Also, I don't want my WiFi to be spread all over the area. Anyway, my wife's computer just took a nap and we put her in a new box and installed an old Wi-Fi card. She works. technically, but it doesn't even come close to the same level of performance (because it only supports 802.11n). ). I pay for gigabit ethernet and Verizon offers full speed; why wouldn't I want to stock as much of it as possible? There are cheaper alternatives. it was 90-95% advertised and delivered. I'm getting over 400Mbps in and around 350-400Mbps on 5G (with Ookla) and I'm far enough away that other 5G devices I own can barely connect. I love these things. As for the installation and drivers, I opened the box, inserted it, restarted it and connected it. Well I don't know if certain MB configurations cause problems but I didn't install any official drivers or utilities because they did everything I needed with the stock Win10 stuff. I believe my son checked the Asus and their utilities but said there was no difference. I can't guarantee everyone will have the same experience, but in a few hours I'll have a new card and install it on a third computer and expect the same hassle-free and extremely enjoyable experience. If not, I will update my review. There just aren't many things that really live up to the hype sales or even the full level of basic standards. In my opinion, this is one of those devices that are worth the money. Couldn't be happier with the performance and ease of installation. It just works. No fiddling, no fumbling with special settings, menus, etc. Plug in and connect to WiFi. That's how things should work.
