Attention, the holes are large enough for small bird seeds to fall to the ground. When I knew! I ordered a plant drip tray to put in it to keep the bird seeds from falling. I drill some holes in the drip tray for drainage and put this bird feeder inside. The feeder contains larger pieces like sunflower seeds, but most bird seed is mixed. This feeder is not suitable. It's really a shame that I have to do this at all. It's just common sense to have a bird feeder that actually holds birdseed! Whoever created this bird feeder is missing brain cells! I'm giving it 2 stars and it might be too much but I'll do it and make it work. The seller must return the money and stop selling this product.
