Hey I guess I can't whine too much for $19. I was looking for something that could serve as both a daytime running light and a night time safety tool. This light works well at night. You get about 250 feet of good visibility with flashing red, and that's good enough. But in bright sunlight it just can't draw much attention at more than 50-100 feet. This thing has 14 lighting modes, but I would use maybe 2 or 3. Red flashing mode is best for attracting attention with brightness, movement and color. Some of the modes might be fun for kids in the driveway, but not for safety on busy roads. In terms of design, the controls are very basic. One button turns the device on and toggles 14 light modes. There is also a memory function. When you turn it on, it starts up in the mode it was in when you last turned it off. This is perfect for me. I don't want to switch between 14 options every time I turn it on. I just want a red flashing mode. In addition, there is a micro USB port protected by a rubber stopper to protect against moisture. This is slightly larger than most other LED taillights. The extra length improves visibility. The mount attaches to the seatpost quickly and easily and stays in place. The lamp is securely fixed on the bracket. And a really nice feature, which was one of the reasons I chose this light, is the ability to rotate the light to a vertical or horizontal position. Simply rotate the lantern and it will lock into place every 90 degrees. Another reason I chose this flashlight is the clip that attaches the flashlight to the mount. I use a saddlebag so attaching a seatpost is not an option. I will use the light mounted to the back of my seat 95% of the time with the mount mounted somewhere on the bike on the side. Finally, the battery is listed as 300mAh in one place and 750mAh elsewhere. in the product list. In any case, depending on the mode used, they indicate an operating time of 6 to 10 hours. My average ride is about 1.5 hours and I'm only on the pavement for about 30 minutes of that time, so I should be fine with that. And the IPX6 water resistance seems fine for the occasional rain. I don't usually ride in heavy rain. Overall this is a pretty good little flashlight for the price. Not sure if there is a better full sun rear light for mounting on a seat bag. If so, I haven't found it yet. I hope this helps anyone thinking of this light. I usually go from 1:15 to 1:30. I just turn on the light when I leave the house and leave it on for the whole trip. An hour and a half of use doesn't affect the battery very much. It fully charges in about 15 minutes when I get home and plug it in. Therefore, I think that the specified opening times are probably quite accurate.
