Review on ☕ One Cup Coffee Maker by Cafe Uno by Chrissy Ramirez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Second purchase of an old favorite

First one I bought from Pic N Save (large quantities now) for the same price as this one and it has lasted 8 years. This requires an occasional vinegar treatment of the water as the minerals in the water will build up in the machine over time, faster if your water is hard (contains more minerals). The manual gives instructions, but I do it a little differently. I only brew the vinegar water halfway through the cycle and turn it off to let the solution stay in for a while, a few hours, or all night. Then brew the rest, throw away, then brew a few times with fresh water until there is no vinegar smell. I know this is necessary when the flow of coffee gets smaller and smaller and there's a long burble towards the end because the machine is kicking but can't lift the last amount of water out of the tank or through the system because the minerals are forming a stone to have. hard layers that block things. I suspect this can also cause the machine to overheat, which is not good from a safety or coffee standpoint. For the same reason, it is important to switch off the machine manually if coffee drips into the cup. Don't leave it plugged in and dry. Low tech, low price and for me the perfect cup of coffee. I hope they make them permanent.
