Review on Eheim Pro 600 Filter 160G by Lindsey Baker

Brand new concept for Eheim and at first I didn't know what to think. Always been an Eheim fan and just blind bought this filter to start a new aquarium. At first I wondered if I made the mistake of switching to the newer Eheim system for the first time. I mean how weird is it to have a sponge pre-filter at the very top and then the flow ramps up from the bottom (as it always has been)? It just seemed weird. But I should have known that Eheim continues to innovate and lead. With this new system you can easily remove and clean the pre-filter (which is reusable) without disturbing anything in the canister! That means much longer intervals between big cleans - how cool is that? I would also recommend a new Eheim pre-filter for your intake manifold. I can live with these two babies for 6 months before I even look in the can - at the same time the pre-filters are easy to keep clean. The photo below shows two pre-filters in the tank because I use dual 75 gallon canisters on my Deep. This is a great new system and works exactly as we've come to expect from Eheim.
