Well-made, versatile lens

I really like this lens, it's very similar to the Zeiss Jana 1.8 I've used on my MFT cameras with adapter but it fits right in so it's much lighter and more compact. It feels solid and the focus and aperture rings are smooth with reasonable drag. The lens cap has a lining to keep it in place and it looks like it's going to stay in your camera bag. I use it on an Olympus OM-D E-M5II body which works great as the image stabilization is built into the body rather than the lens. Aperture priority mode allows me to manually set the aperture on the lens while automatically setting the shutter speed for the exposure. So it's like shooting with an electronic lens, just a different control for setting the aperture. When I look online as it's often been found that the contrast drops sharply when shooting wide open I have a lens hood on the way to see if that helps. With a stop down, it has excellent contrast and color. I'll add a tip to help with tricky focusing when the aperture is wide open: turn on Focus Boost. On this camera's body it is assigned to the lens by default, but you can select a different function key and then use the highlighted areas on the screen/viewfinder to fine-tune focus points.
