Review on πŸ”Œ RIITOP NVMe Adapter with Heat Sink - M.2 PCIe SSD to PCI-e Converter Card | 2280/2260/2242/2230 [Upgraded] by Cody Howard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to install and works like a champ!

Installing an NVMe drive in this adapter and inserting it into the PCIe slot took about 5 minutes. Then the time I spent in the BIOS to make sure my MOBO could see it and then setting it up to use it the way I wanted it took another 5 minutes or so. It was quick and efficient and I had no problems. I wanted to have very fast and sufficient storage space on my machine. So I bought this adapter and two Silicon Power 1TB NVMe drives and used my ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming-ITX/TB3 BIOS to create a 2TB RAID 0 from the two drives. After installing Windows 10 Pro x64 on the array and updating all drivers and software, I measured the drive's performance and was pleased to see that while the Silicon Power 1TB NVMe drives support PCIe 3.0, their striping allows them to do so To function as if they were, a single 2TB PCIe 4.0 drive was about half the price of a 2TB PCIe 4.0 drive at the time of writing. It's been running 24/7 for over 2 weeks and I haven't encountered any setup issues at all.
