This material is excellent. It behaves very similar to normal lead solder. I was afraid to try lead-free solder because people said it gives off more flux smoke and is more difficult to work with than lead solder. I'm happy to report that this alloy is pretty good. I don't notice any unusual smoke either. I have a homemade smoke vent. I also bought a smaller diameter roll of the same material for finer work (Surface Mount Chips). I wish they would sell this stuff in smaller rolls at a lower price. That's a pretty ridiculous amount of solder for an amateur. It obviously has an expiration date, but I suspect it's only really important to manufacturers that produce goods in bulk.
