I have a 6 year old Lenovo P50. This is one of the first models with a zipper. The system stated that the laptop is incompatible and does not support egpu. I put a new GTX 1050 ti in the box, disabled my local NVIDIA card and installed new NVIDIA drivers. It was a bit technical but then again this is a 6 year old laptop. Every time I turn on the laptop it works. Does egpu work the same as an internal desktop GPU? Of course not. Better than built-in nvidia m1000? Yes. I made the right purchase. Greatly improved graphics without having to buy another laptop, which, by the way, is not possible due to the lack of chips. My only problem is the size. It's big, but it's connected to the territory.
