Ideal for home or small business

**This review is for an expensive 8-port 10Gbps switch**I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase this switch decided. My problem was that my NAS, router and PC didn't support SFP and almost all competing 10Gbe switches use SFP uplink. I wanted at least 8 ports of 10Gb without breaking the bank. Few switches in this price range only offer pure copper RJ-45 connectors. I currently only use 5 ports out of 8 (2 lags to router, 2 lags to NAS, 1 to desktop) but it would be nice to have additional ports if I decide to expand my home network. This product literally plugs in and plugs in. Plug in with the minimum configuration required from the interface (there is a separate console port for old-school techs). In less than 5 minutes I set up LACP aggregation between my NAS and the switch. So far I haven't had a single outage or failed restarts. This switch has fans that pop up from time to time, so I recommend placing the unit in a separate room or closet away from the computers. My only complaint is that the web interface is not fully compatible. with Google Chrome. Some menus appear blank and click navigation does not work. This shouldn't be a big deal for most people as many companies use Internet Explorer by default. However, this is the only Switch interface I've used that wasn't compatible with Chrome, and for the price I think it deserves a mention. Firmware updates are rare, but I hope that TRENDnet, like many other networking equipment manufacturers, will take a proactive approach to introducing new features and fixing issues like the browser incompatibility mentioned above.
