Great switch, with 1 caveat.

This is an extremely economical option when you need to add 10GbE to your home or small business network. Personally I think the best use cases for this switch are home networking and/or a low cost backend for something like VMWare VMotion. .or something not connected to your managed switch/client access work network. Why? See below. You will almost inevitably run into loopback issues when attempting to use this switch on a network that contains managed switches. I was stupid enough to try this

Connections appear to disconnect safely

I bought this to bring some 10G NAS devices into the faster segment but I found this switch keeps freezing. When I reboot the switch: ., the connection to the switch (ping/http) and to my NAS devices comes back. The switch has the latest firmware 1.01.04 and I am using CAT7 patch cords. And the switch is connected to the UPS. I had LACP enabled but turned it off in case it was causing crashes. No improvements. I'm currently waiting for a call back from support, let's see what happens.

It works, but there are some minor connection issues.

Pros: This switch works mostly as I wanted and expected. It offers the solid control you would expect from a managed SMB switch. Lots of options and I'm very happy with the main reason I bought this switch, individual speeds from 100Mbps to 10Gbps on each port. That's exactly what I need for my network. I still prefer copper at home and my devices range from 100MB to 10GB. Cons: I had occasional issues initially with a port or two where devices wouldn't connect properly. It seemed like…

Ideal for home or small business

**This review is for an expensive 8-port 10Gbps switch**I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase this switch decided. My problem was that my NAS, router and PC didn't support SFP and almost all competing 10Gbe switches use SFP uplink. I wanted at least 8 ports of 10Gb without breaking the bank. Few switches in this price range only offer pure copper RJ-45 connectors. I currently only use 5 ports out of 8 (2 lags to router, 2 lags to NAS, 1 to desktop) but it would be nice to have…
