We bought these sets to give our children Easter baskets and surprisingly they were more excited about these garden sets than the sweets. The kit comes with everything you need including soil and a small journal to record watering, plant growth etc. The quality of the materials is excellent. I'm not exactly a green thumb but the plants all grew quickly and survived until transplanted into the garden where they really took off. We enjoyed delicious radishes, carrots, green beans, squash and cucumbers. Children learn a lot about gardening and enthusiastically eat the vegetables they have grown. The only thing they didn't bring us was watermelons, but we live in a northern climate and didn't expect to get melons. This is a very rewarding and fun family activity to get your kids outside.
