After buying them due to an error on the product page - it said they came with laces but they don't - I gave them a bad review. They just won't stay on my child's foot! A few posts and a modified product page later, I found out a fun fact: These shoes are ONLY laceless and shouldn't be laceless. If I had known that, I would not have bought them; My child takes off even the tightest shoes with laces. The sellers did a great job with me to fix the situation. So good news: Cheers to customer service! Bad news: These aren't the shoes we wanted. Keep that in mind as you read my comments. :) These are stylish sneakers that look like classic sneakers. The canvas is durable and feels like you could just toss it in the washing machine and then hang it to dry. This is exactly the type of fabric I look for in children's shoes. The soles have good tread and the shoes are flexible rather than rigid. This makes the shoe ideal for use on the playground. Elastic where the tongue of the shoe should be serves as a retention mechanism. This is a good feature for kids to learn how to put on and take off their shoes by themselves. (Just make sure your kids are responsible enough for this.) Cons: For my kid, I could throw a shoe in the trash; it's like disappearing in a few days when it comes to laceless shoes. Again, I bought these because they were advertised as having laces at the time. There should be better arch support. Less stiff sole means they are not suitable for uneven ground or long walks. Bought shoes without laces in the first place, let alone bought them later. I hope you have a better experience with this shoe. But seriously. Make sure your child has both shoes on before leaving the park.
