Review on BRIGHT IDEAS Wax Melter: Enhance Your Ambiance with this Cast Iron Skillet, Warmer, and Trivet Combo by Jose Gerber

I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews but I'm happy with it. I've been using a scented wax pan every day for the past two weeks (any brand will do, they all melt the same). I had no black coating from the pan. Remember that the pan is heated and not attached to the grate. This kit *must* be kept out of the reach of children and pets. I can't stress this enough. Required dimensions for reusable oil candles: height from support plate to sump - 2.25 inches, candle plate width - 1.75 inches. If you want to use a reusable oil candle it needs to be within these measurements to fit. The height of the jar candle should be 1-2 inches high and less than 1.75 inches wide due to the curves of the legs being worked on. Unfortunately, such a small oil candle will need to be refilled regularly if you use this wax melting kit frequently. It's a nice set and I love the concept, but it needs some tweaking. It would be better if the plate holding the candle was placed higher on the legs. If you have a piece of wood or metal that fits over the curls of the legs you can place a tea light on it and it will work just fine. The candle is closer to the pot and also reduces the risk of heat damage to the surfaces the stand rests on. Mine is on a wide candlestick to be on the safe side. I use long lasting tea lights for 8-10 hours. They are 3/4 inch high. To get the flame close enough to heat the pan and melt the wax I have to use two candles, one on top of the other. However, I am concerned about the stability. Problem "solve" I will make a candlestick to sit on a plate that will look like a campfire. :) It would also be better if the ring at the bottom of the pot fits the ring at the top In any case, the pot is easy to be pushed off the center or knocked off due to accidental impact, children, pets, etc. are more stable and reduce the likelihood of that wax is spilled.
