I noticed uneven heating when frying in an iron pan. There is a round spot in the center that is cooler. The bacon started browning earlier on the edges than in the middle. This must result from the shape of the induction coil. A donut-shaped heating zone is created with a "holeโ in the middle. I've noticed the same heat unevenness on a cast iron grill pan. It heats up quickly. The boiling water is very impressive. If you lower the temperature, it stops cooking almost immediately. Soup and pasta work great. Noise and uneven heat are no obstacles for me. One star gone. In general I am satisfied. If you can handle uneven heating, you'll enjoy the quick response to temperature changes. The controls are well placed. 10 degree temperature rise from 100F to SMOKIN'. Programmable cooking time and temperature. Three power levels. If you overload the switch, you can reduce power consumption. Slows the warming, but not by much.
