I prefer this a lot more than things like Johnson or even Goddard paste wax. First, it smells good, not like an engine. It does an excellent job of bringing back a moderate shine and a more or less even tone. I used it on a battered dresser that I turned into a wood carving bench. This helped hide scratches and even restored the shine to water damaged wood at the base. Even if it dries too long, it doesn't seem to leave a difficult-to-remove residue. This wax does the job really well. in terms of looks. Let's see how it does, although most waxes generally don't protect that much (say from water) so don't expect miracles. Although I might be surprised.
