The starter works surprisingly well after replacing the brushes for a fraction of the cost of a new starter, but patience is required.

Ideal for repairing your Yamaha G14 gas powered golf cart starter - after replacing the brushes the starter will run like new for only 10% the cost of a new starter. Be careful when disassembling, remove dust and dirt and pay attention to how the short tube, especially the exposed copper part, fits into the body without the brush sticking. First watch the U-tube brush change videos and pay attention to the brush spring trick.
