It was definitely the right choice for me! I'm male, 6ft tall, about 175# but I don't have much padding on my buttocks to be honest. I just drive around my area casually, maybe 5-10 miles at a time. I had a bell wide seat with gel padding which was fine but after 20 minutes. either way, I took the opportunity to pedal and when I got home I was very happy to get off the seat. Now I can drive for an hour and it's only towards the end that I think it's nice to take a few seconds' break. I doubt there is a better seat for active cycling, but at the same time it's so comfortable for me. It takes some getting used to. Since I don't "bump" against the thick padding, the seat seems to rock back and forth slightly when I pedal. But the seat isn't slack, it's the padding that allows my center of gravity to move back and forth slightly, which a stiffer seat can't.
