Well, just hang overboard the boat. Even small waves can trip and swim away. Only 1 in 5 people who tried to get back on the boat after being scalloped were able to use it successfully. The collapsible legs kept collapsing and it was a bit short for most people to get back on their feet while holding the boat. It didn't break while using it and I weigh 250 pounds so that's a plus. The suction cups on the bottom of the folding legs might help. It's too big to be used all the time and not very stable when used in a real emergency. Better than nothing and can hang overboard if you don't have room for a real swim ladder.
