For the price I'm not too disappointed with this 7 way socket. It works. However, connection instructions could have been included to make connection easier. There was an extra wire that we initially found difficult to explain and probably could have avoided the hassle if it had been positively identified. Based on the levels we've seen, we just assumed these were the normal shorts found in every vehicle. However, after changing the battery on my truck, I'm wondering if there is a short in the socket itself because my brake control unit now thinks the trailer is plugged in all the time, even when it isn't. I'm not disappointed with this 7 way out - it works. I think I was expecting slightly better quality, slightly better documentation, and no bleed between lines. If I end up replacing this one I'll probably go to the Reese outlet since it's about the same price anyway.
