Great for car.

Perfect for what I need. I have a small Shoreland trailer but they all have 7 blade RV forks. The car only has "4-way". Worked fine, but don't forget to "ground" the white wire.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • The list will be long.

does not work as expected.

I finally got around to getting this adapter to work. Unfortunately it is too late for a return. Yesterday I noticed that the white (ground) wire coming from the 4-pin strip is actually cut halfway down the tube. It leads to nothing. I'm not sure if it should be like that or not. But it took me too long to realize that I would not recommend this product. It works but not as expected.

Allows for towing with safety lights 7 pin round to 4 pin flat

Good news and bad. This allows you to connect one trailer to two trailers using a 7 pin HD round to 4 pin flat connector, but this will ONLY provide safety lights. curves and traffic lights. This will NOT allow the trailer electric brakes to work. So use it wisely if you have powerful brakes on your tractor and a light trailer with a 7 pin connector. To achieve this, this connector adapter works perfectly. Just note that if you use the plug you will not have TRAILER ELECTRIC BRAKES.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doesn't fit all

Counterfeit product/Misconnected

Will not be bought again. The 4-prong ground wire was a "placebo wire" that simply terminated in the center of the wiring harness protective sleeve (slotted wiring harness). Had to test almost everything with a continuity tester/voltmeter to see if the problem was with the harness adapter, remove the split harness and then further modify the harness to connect the 4 spade ground wires to the pigtail ground wire (white wire with free end and loop) to ensure functionality. The inclusion of a…

Time will tell Wiring

This 7 pin CURT converter worked great with the Tow Ready 118304 T-One connector assembly on my 2005 Toyota Sienna Van. I had to replace a 7 pin Hopkins connector that broke in half when connecting the trailer connector. This CURT mated well with the connector assembly. I also have a brake controller and a car battery cable to charge the battery in my popup. So depending on your setup you may or may not have extra cables. The wires on this CURT could have been about 6 inches longer. I had to…

Great 4 pin to 7 pin trailer adapter

I borrowed a pop up camper from friends and it had a 7 pin connector. My truck has a 4-pin connector. I bought this adapter hoping that the 4 pin flat adapter would plug into my truck and allow the trailer lights, brakes and turn signals to work. I didn't need any other cables for the trip, I wrapped them in electrical tape and left them unconnected. The adapter worked exactly as expected and the trailer could be towed. If you have a brake kit or need to charge your trailer's battery or if you…

no wiring diagram: towing products and winches

I am a retired concrete worker and have used trailers of all types for 50 years which means I have been repairing trailer wiring for 50 years. This truck hookup looked great. In Minnesota, DOT uses a lot of salt on icy roads, which eats away at the wires. Every few years you have to change parts, that's why I bought this connector. There is a standard color code for trailer, left, right, tail, ground, brake, backup and battery cables. So 7 clamps. I wonder what color does what, these guys don't

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Update Availability

Reading these reviews I don't think people understand what this adapter is for. It's not made for hanging the space between your 4-wire tractor and your 7-wire trailer. Therefore the 4 ground lines are not connected. When mated, the 4-wire connector can carry more current than the 4-wire connector carries. This product is designed to make your life easier when installing a 7 wire connector on a vehicle that already has a 4 wire connector or when installing one of the T-harnesses. If you want to

Good value 7 way socket, works but could do better

For the price I'm not too disappointed with this 7 way socket. It works. However, connection instructions could have been included to make connection easier. There was an extra wire that we initially found difficult to explain and probably could have avoided the hassle if it had been positively identified. Based on the levels we've seen, we just assumed these were the normal shorts found in every vehicle. However, after changing the battery on my truck, I'm wondering if there is a short in the…
