Reading these reviews I don't think people understand what this adapter is for. It's not made for hanging the space between your 4-wire tractor and your 7-wire trailer. Therefore the 4 ground lines are not connected. When mated, the 4-wire connector can carry more current than the 4-wire connector carries. This product is designed to make your life easier when installing a 7 wire connector on a vehicle that already has a 4 wire connector or when installing one of the T-harnesses. If you want to use it temporarily, you can connect the ground yourself or just let the trailer ground through the hitch. It's not the best option but for a quick read it will work, just make sure the other extra wires can't be shorted out and get hot when the trailer is connected.
