Lead issue - watering accessory

I like the bowl and float but when the lead was connected the lead that went to the bib leaked and I added a washer, even with a washer, So I took it to another hose bib and I had to twist it so hard I almost bent the copper coming out of the wall and it was still leaking. So I hooked up the blue feature which is very easy to clean but I bought it and had no problems with the lead, it looked a bit different and had a different washer.
