I would say that with any high tech tool it is very important to read and follow the instructions. That being said, I like my new Tavool spikefinder because I built my wall first and knew exactly where the spikes I placed were. I followed the instructions, scanned the studs deeply to show the edges and it's very accurate. I even measured it with my tape measure and the center to center stretched from the center of the tether, 16 inches, and then 32 inches from center to the T. I am very impressed. Disclaimer which I also understood since reading the instructions and it worked until T too. I am happy with my new spike finder and have trusted it since I built it and then it found it. I recommend it to anyone who can read the instructions first.
