First off while this may be advertised as a "learning toy", and it is in a way like all model kits are, it's just as good for adults as well, making for a great rainy day project. The pieces are easy to separate, and assembly is fairly straightforward following the instructions, with the occasional misprint or mistranslation easy to figure out. The pieces are fairly thick for the price you pay so there is little worry in breaking them while assembling. Make sure you take your time assembling it though, this is a toy which will look good on a shelf as a display piece, especially if you paint it up. It's not going to survive a drop unscathed or do a vertical hill climb of course once it's finished, but it will move across smooth hard terrain like a sidewalk and take the bumps along it quite well, making this model more satisfying than a static plastic hobby model.It would be nice if it also came with some paint brushes and "official color" paint set, but it is an inexpensive model set, and it's more about the building of it than the finished product, and it does have a technical look when it's done since the parts are laser burned with details, not something you get from a plastic model and decals. It would also be nice if it came with a couple of sheets with spare parts too, but again it's an inexpensive model, and it's not designed to be heavily used like a toy would.As of this review there are four models in this set (Curiosity, Hermes, Spirit rovers and a moon buggy), and if you're looking for a Christmas gift for a family of three or four, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the whole set.
