Review on Enhanced Eye Comfort: Adjustable Brightness Desktop Monitor for Optimal Eye Care by Sergio Herring

Wow! I didn't realize how dusty my monitor was until I got this backlight

This light helps reduce glare from the monitor when the rest of the room is relatively dark. There is the right amount of light around the workspace and keyboard. My monitor sits on a small raised stand so it was a bit difficult to find the right angle so the light isn't hitting the monitor screen directly and not in my eyes. The monitor still lights up, but when the monitor is on it's not very noticeable. However, I noticed some light reflections from my dark keyboard. This wasn't a problem for me as I'm a blind typist. For those who don't have a backlit keyboard and need to look at the keys to type, the light will likely be of great help. It looks and feels like a minimalist product, which is a good thing. The middle support arm is weighted and provides the necessary gravity to keep yourself on top of the monitor. I've tried it on multiple monitors and even on my 12.9 inch iPad Pro display. I have found that if your monitor is relatively thick at the back, the arm cannot be folded back onto the monitor to provide additional stability. I have a monitor that is over 20 years old and most modern monitors are pretty thin. To see how well the lamp sits on an ultra-thin monitor, I tried it out on my iPad Pro, and it was able to sit on it very well. I also appreciated the ability to change not only the brightness, but also the color of the white Lamp. It was a little confusing, as it takes a second press of the power button to change the color temperature from a warm cast of yellow to a bright white. The only other very small issue is where to get the lamp to tilt the light. Several times I instinctively grabbed the right end of the lamp and changed the brightness instead of tilting it. Luckily, the incline is a one-time adjustment and then you just leave it at that. This is a high quality product made primarily from aluminum alloy, justifying the higher price tag for those expecting better products.

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Bad viewing angles. Poor viewing angles can cause the display to appear distorted or blurry when viewed from the side or at an angle.
