Review on Enhanced Eye Comfort: Adjustable Brightness Desktop Monitor for Optimal Eye Care by John Dimatulac

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sleek and useful but a little tricky to use except on/off

I don't know why, but the texture of the metal is one of my favorite parts of this lantern. It's a really dense, slightly ribbed structure. I was very quickly enthusiastic about this lamp. I've seen a lot of people with monitor light bars and wasn't sure I really need them, especially since there are so many other lights in my room. I didn't think the light would make much of a difference, but what I didn't realize was how dark my actual writing area is. This light bar really illuminates the area where I work/write/eat and do most of my activities. I've found myself filling a niche I didn't know I needed. The product states that it reduces eye strain, I really didn't notice that. My monitor is quite large so I don't have to strain my eyes. I was trying to fit this light to my laptop and although it fit my laptop (16.5 inch) it was too heavy. It says "Monitor" bar on it, but I want to warn you that while the metal is really good, it's also pretty heavy. So I'm not sure I would have liked this product as much if it was on a lighter monitor. Other than that, it fits my monitor perfectly and it's beautiful. Also, since it fits on the monitor, it's a bit difficult to use my webcam, which is also on my monitor, so I'm glad my monitor is wide enough to accommodate both. The light bar is surprisingly longer than I expected. I will also say that it has an odd mechanism for turning it on and switching between lighting modes. There's no solid click between modes, it's a dial, but it moves from one color to another and like a microscope, if you go too far in one direction or the other, it automatically starts looping back to the next "mode". ". I'm not sure if that makes sense, but it's been an amazing feature for me. I also found it a little tricky to toggle the side of the lightbar itself on and off. I would have liked a cord switch that probably also changes the light. Despite the odd characteristics, this light is very slim and I'm really enjoying it so far.
