Review on KitchenAid KO321OHOBA Gourmet Etched Grater by Heather Richards

This WAS a beautiful Microplane style grater

Edited to downgrade this to 1 star and add: It is now 23rd January 2021 and this grater no longer grates! I have no idea what happened to him. I've used it a few times, mostly for citrus peels. I may have thrown it in the dishwasher a few times, but this product page says you can. I've pulled it out of my drawer twice in the last week to grate lemons and instead had to pull out my old micro slicer to get the job done. At first I thought it was an accident and threw it back in the drawer, but now it's going in the bin. My Microplane still works despite being decades old, but this KitchenAid grater I got 6 months ago doesn't grate anything! What. Ideal for finely grating citrus peel, nutmeg, hard cheese and chocolate. I love that it has a handle and a plastic lid as my original grater doesn't have either and needs to be treated with care. This KitchenAid grater is perfect for keeping in your desk drawer. Keep in mind that like all KitchenAid items, this isn't the world's smallest cookware. The handle is solid and durable. Everything they make is oversized. So if you live in a small space, their cookware may not suit you. I also don't like their grips, like OXO Good Grips cookware, as they aren't as comfortable and easy to use. If I were to think between this and similar dishes from OXO, I would probably buy the OXO brand. This KitchenAid pen is hard plastic only. Pictured above is my original Microplane Grater, KitchenAid Fine Grater, and Small OXO Good Grips Grater. Note the OXO's shorter handle and more curved angle, as well as the hanging hole. Of the three, the OXO is the easiest to use, although the one I have, with small holes, isn't very good.
