Now I only use these K&N oil filters. I have a new 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 5.7L HEMI V-8 engine. The oil filter is protected by a metal shroud which makes using a standard strap wrench very difficult. When using, you must use a wrench that accepts a square shank extension. And you can't muster much torque with the one I have. A nut welded to the end of the K&N oil filter simplifies removal and installation. I just use a standard 1" socket with a short extension and a ratchet. K&N is the only oil filter I know of that has this feature.
